My Training
I have completed advanced couples therapy training at the William Alanson White Institute in New York and The Couples Institute in California. My clinical development has also included two years of small-group supervision with Dr. Virginia Goldner, featured in Showtime’s Couples Therapy, as well as ongoing individual case consultation with experts in the field.
I care deeply about the couples I work with, and I believe couples therapy can be profoundly transformative. I know this not only as a therapist, but from personal experience. As a child, I watched my parents participate in couples therapy and witnessed the yelling gradually give way to more moments of joy, connection, and togetherness in our home. Later, as a partner myself, I experienced the vulnerability of being the pair on the couch.
I understand how difficult it can be to bring your most painful conversations into a one-hour therapy session, only to turn to your partner afterward and ask, "What should we do for dinner?" I believe this perspective shapes the way I work: with empathy, respect for the vulnerability of the process, and a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to trust the therapist and the process.
